Top 10 Tips for Application Forms

• Photocopy the form so you have a spare
• Read the person specification or vacancy details carefully
• Giving examples, explain how you meet the essential and desirable criteria
• Ask someone else to read and check it before you fill in the final version
• Fill in the form using a Black pen
• Complete every section of the form
• Be honest – lies will catch you out!
• Choose referees carefully – they must be able to speak positively about you
• Remember to ask if they will be your referee
• Before you send it make a copy for future reference
